Surfing in Barbados
If you’ve ever dreamed of surfing the waves, the warm waters of Barbados are the ideal place to get started.
The weather is perfect, and offshore winds and reef breaks create great surfing conditions.
From October to March the waves run between 2 and 12 feet, while the rest of the year the maximum height is generally 6 feet. This means that whether you’ve got some experience or are a complete newbie, there’s a wave out there with your name on it.
Novices should start off on beaches where the waves are small and should head for where the waves are gentle enough to get to grips with the basics, like Freights Bay, Pebbles and Surfers Point, while expert surfers will enjoy Soup Bowl, Duppies and Tropicana. Our concierge would be pleased to arrange classes for you to suit all abilities, just let us know.
